About Us

Who are we?

We’re a joyful family for sure. We cook, eat, taste and travel a lot. Food is the basis of health, good condition and well-being. We don’t accept artificial and highly-processed food, any types of fast food, frozen food and take-aways. For this reason, we cook and bake for ourselves various delicacies everyday and since we try to do it the best we can, food is not only routine for us. Eating together is always a pleasant and interesting experience as well as a great occasion to spend time with each other. We encourage you to eat together, always and everyday!

HE
The author, scriptwriter and director of this site and practically of all that’s going on in the kitchen. HE’s been dealing with cooking and continuous studying of its secrets in theory and in practice for over 20 years. Out of it, HE’s been cooking literally everyday (except a dozen or so of days in the year when we are out) for 14 years. HE gets inspirations mainly from abroad (there’s an enormous difference in plus in relation to Poland) through the Internet, TV, books and travelling to selected countries. HE loves both traditional and modern cuisine, mainly Polish, Italian and French one. HE doesn’t avoid cuisine of other nationalities – HE selects and chooses all that is the best in the cuisine of the given country. You’ll see it clearly on this site. HE continuously improves his skills and searches for new inspirations. HE’s been also studying the secrets of cheese-making and ham-making, which you’ll also see here. Professionally HE does something completely different and cooking is HIS great love after hours. HE brutally refutes the theories stating that you have to have ‘a lot of time’ for diversified, healthy, tasty and sophisticated cooking of 2 or 3 meals a day. No. And if it can be done by a person being very active professionally, whose activity exceeds the standard full-time job, you can also do it. It’s only necessary to be eager to do so and then, to organise yourself properly. Next, there’s only work, training and experience gathering. A bit of talent will certainly help but it’s lack will not be a great obstacle. In our team, HE is responsible practically in 90% for cooking, for our website and partly for social media.

SHE
HIS inspiration and muse. SHE bakes delicious cakes as well as marvellous buns, bread, pitas, tortillas, ciabattas and baguettes and she also produces great ‘sweets’ – the inverted commas are not accidental here since everything SHE makes is fit, healthy and not sugary. Additionally, SHE perfectly supports HIM as HIS sous-chef when it’s necessary for example to serve several-course dinner for 16 or 17 persons (and we have such experience :)). HER taste and culinary skills have developed due to HIM. SHE is also great jury and everyday tester of HIS cooking experiments. When it’s necessary to season finally a soup or a sauce, HE always asks for HER opinion in the end. SHE is also the main logistician – always buys exactly what HE wants in a shop or on a market. HER profession is completely different, similarly to HIM, and like HIM, SHE brutally defies the theory entitled: ‘I don’t have time for that’. In our team, SHE is responsible for everything (except pizza, lava cake or creme brulee) found in sections: ‘bread’, ‘sweets’ or ‘cakes’ Additionally, SHE’s responsible for social media, taking photos of dishes and English version of our site. Thanks to HER, we may go to the world, with professionally translated site.

JUNIOR
Another jury and everyday cooking judge. Despite the fact that she’s just started her ‘teen-age’, her taste is already very developed. It’s enough to say that she’s been a famous taster of confit duct (!), all types of pasta (from spaghetti to ravioli and tortellini) and steak tartare (1), that she could eat Parmigiano Reggiano for dessert and that she doesn’t avoid beef, veal, salmon, risotto, gorgonzola, beetroots, celery, horseradish or other things which are not eaten, not liked and simply not known by children at her age. HE keeps proposing her more and more things to taste and learn, creating her range of flavours. She would probably win any possible competition consisting in guessing tried products with closed eyes. She can’t be satisfied with poor food. What’s more, we’ve succeeded in restraining her fondness of fast food and junk food. It’s a good sign as what youth is used to, age remembers. She has all the potential to become a very good cook. She has a lot of example, knowledge and possibilities at home. She just needs to take advantage of that. Nevertheless, she doesn’t show determination in this field yet. In our team, she deals with… eating. At present, on her head there’re usually headphones and in her head there’re… The Sims 4 and … boys

MEGI and PESTKA
The ones who have dogs know what this is about but we’ll explain it to the ones who don’t have them. You open the fridge and after maximum 10 seconds they are there, always and from nowhere. They may be upstairs, you might not have seen them for half an hour – they always hear the fridge open and always appear in the right place immediately, in their unique way. Imagine a situation: you don’t see them anywhere, they aren’t messing around, they’re not on the floor or in their bed – you look everywhere. It’s quiet. So, you open the fridge and… guess what?

They always do it! The first one (ON THE RIGHT) is a mature, almost 12-year-old grandma. She’s very picky and she won’t eat everything but she loves – what’s obvious – meat and ham but also… Parmigiano Reggiano, brie, gorgonzola, egg yolk, almonds, nuts and sunflower seeds. The other one is young and silly. She isn’t even one year old and consequently she hasn’t acquired any noble habits yet. So, she will eat anything that falls down – even lettuce, onion or.. raw potato chip. Both of them are regular observers of our kitchen life. You know – they must be nearby in case anything falls down again. Both of them will greedily lick any accidentally spilt drop of beer or wine. If anyone is not careful enough and pours out some beer or wine from the glass, there’s immediately turmoil on the floor. You only hear quick and greedy slurping and in a moment everything is cleaned up – so perfectly that you could eat directly from the floor.

US
We have already visited a lot of places in Poland and in the world, each time tasting whatever was possible. We have practical and empirical knowledge on numerous cuisines of various countries as we’ve already been on five continents and in almost 30 countries, such as:

  • Italy (11 times), Spain (5 times), Portugal, France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Slovakia (a couple of times), Hungary (twice), Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Norway, Greece, Bulgaria (three times), Romania, San Marino and Vatican in Europe,
  • Turkey (4 times) and Georgia in Asia,
  • Egypt in Africa,
  • USA (3 times) & Canada (including Chicago, New York, Miami, Las Vegas and Niagara Falls) in North America,
  • Brazil and Argentina in South America.

We often relax in nice places all over Poland as well, in local tourist farms, far away from noise and close to nature, in quiet and peaceful environment accompanied by home-made food.

We read cooking books, we watch cooking programmes, we search through the Internet looking for new recipes, tastes and inspirations. We do it because we love it and we want to share it with you.
